PINC
is a KA2 Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project coordinated by ELA.
The project aspires to make education more inclusive for children with behavioral disabilities in early childhood. There is a growing need to spread awareness, provide tools and training, and empower preschool teachers to create classrooms where every child gets a fair shot at learning, no matter their background or abilities.
By sharing best practices among educators on an international level, PINC’s aim is to foster inclusion in Early Childhood Education and Care for children with disabilities and support quality and inclusive education.

Project Outcomes
To achieve its primary goals, the project was structured into four main outcomes, each addressing a distinct challenge and tailored for diverse groups including educators, policymakers, families, and children. The main outcomes will be focused on awareness, engagement, knowledge and support on early age disability and the identification and promotion of best practices for preschool educators.

Development of a School-Based Reflection Tool
PINC is focused on creating a School-Based Reflection Tool for preschool educators. This tool, designed in the form of a questionnaire, aims to assess educators’ understanding of inclusion topics, their needs for enhanced inclusivity, and their perspectives on working with children with behavioral disabilities. Moreover, the tool aims to overcome stereotypes and promote teacher-parent relationships regarding children’s behavioral disabilities. Through this, PINC seeks to enhance awareness and understanding among educators, school staff, parents, and the wider community, fostering engagement and improving practices in preschool settings.
Elaboration of a training course on preschool inclusion
PINC focuses on developing a comprehensive teacher training program titled “Inclusive teaching methods for preschool: supporting children with behavioral disabilities.” This 25-hour course, divided into five modules, aims to empower preschool educators with the competences needed for inclusive education. The training intends to equip educators with improved knowledge on behavioral disabilities, inclusive education principles, effective teaching methods, positive behavior support strategies, and collaborative skills.

Creation of a Preschool-Kit
PINC will provide a Preschool-Kit consisting of 15 innovative and inclusive teaching activities tailored for educators working with children with behavioral disabilities. This kit aims to enhance the abilities of educators to create inclusive learning environments that support the needs and engagement of all children, including those with behavioral disabilities. Educators will have the opportunity to apply these activities in their own classrooms, gaining practical experience and confidence in implementing inclusive teaching methods.
Creation of a collection of best practices OER
PINC focuses on promoting knowledge sharing and best practices among preschool educators for working with children with behavioral disabilities thanks to an Open Educational Resource (OER). Educators will have access to successful approaches and policies, enhancing their understanding of inclusive preschool practices. The OER will provide a collection of inclusive best practices in text and video formats, making these resources easily accessible. Ultimately, OER aims to empower educators to implement inclusive methods in their own classrooms, benefiting both teachers and the children they teach.

What’s going on in the project?

Download the Preschool Kit
The PINC Preschool Kit is now available! It includes 15 inclusive teaching activities for preschool and kindergarten educators, developed in six languages and tested in real classrooms across Europe.
Designed to support children with behavioral disabilities, the Kit helps teachers create more inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environments.

The PINC Multiplier Events Are Underway!
As the PINC project approaches its final stage, partners are actively organizing Multiplier Events across Europe to share the project’s results with local educators, families, and stakeholders. Recent events held in Bologna (Italy) and Tenerife (Spain) brought together preschool teachers and education professionals to discover the resources developed during the project, including the PINC Training Course, Preschool Kit, and Open Educational Resources.
These events are an important opportunity to exchange experiences, present practical tools for inclusive education, and spread the impact of PINC beyond the partnership. All project results and downloadable resources are now freely available on the PINC website for anyone interested in inclusive practices in early childhood education.

The final Transnational Project Meeting (TPM)
From 19 to 21 January 2026, we held the final Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) of the KA2 Erasmus+ project PINC – Empowering preschool educators: best practices and resources for the inclusion of children with behavioral disabilities” in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife , hosted by Erasmus Learning Academy SL. Partners from Italy, Spain, Romania, Estonia and Lithuania came together to reflect on three years of collaboration, review the project’s key achievements, and finalise important outputs such as the preschool kit and testing tools .
The meeting also included meaningful moments of exchange and learning, including a kindergarten visit, collective reflections on inclusive practices, and discussions on the final dissemination activities and upcoming multiplier events . This last TPM marked a major milestone for PINC, as the project is now entering its final phase and will officially conclude in mid-2026, bringing this shared European journey towards more inclusive early childhood education to a close

? Second Transnational Meeting in Romania
From March 17-19, 2025, the PINC partners gathered in Romania for the 2nd TPM, hosted by Grădinița No. 37. Our Romanian partners really gave us a warm welcome, making us feel at home throughout our stay!
During the visit, we had the opportunity to explore Grădinița No. 37, where we observed children’s activities and learned more about their educational approach. We also visited a school for children with severe disabilities, which led to meaningful discussions on different inclusive education models across partner countries.
In addition to school visits, we reviewed the progress of PINC and planned the next steps. Exciting news—we will soon be working on the development of a full training course on preschool inclusion practices! Stay tuned to discover how to join.
Beyond our work sessions, we also enjoyed cultural activities, strengthening our collaboration while immersing ourselves in Romanian traditions.
A big thank you to our hosts for this enriching experience! We look forward to continuing our work towards a more inclusive preschool education.

The Reflection Tool is out!
The creation of a Reflection Tool for preschool educators is now concluded. The reflection tool serves as a comprehensive instrument designed to foster reflection, dialogue and awareness surrounding disability and inclusion themes within preschool settings. Tailored specifically for preschool teachers and staff, this tool is instrumental in promoting a deeper understanding of early-age behavioral disorders and their implications for inclusive education.
At its core, it provides a structured framework for educators and school staff to examine their current practices, beliefs, and attitudes towards disability and inclusion. Through a series of prompts, open and closed questions, participants are encouraged to reflect on their experiences, perceptions, and challenges related to supporting children with behavioral disabilities in the classroom.
