Project Outcomes
To achieve the project’s main objectives, the partnership will design and develop a Co-creation Platform, a specialized training course, a Microcredential-based Digital Citizenship Curriculum for adult education, a game-based Toolkit and digital escape room, as well as Workshops and an Online Conference on E-democracy with adult learners with disabilities.
Co-creation Platform and Co-creation Workshop fostering knowledge exchange among adult educators
The organization and design of a Co-creation Platform and the organization of a Co-creation Workshop to promote knowledge exchange and need-to-know sharing among adult educators in teaching digital citizenship and approaching adults with learning difficulties.
The platform features topic suggestions, resources, polls, and brainstorming environments. Additionally, the platform incorporates interactive gamification techniques, thereby boosting participant engagement and motivation, and awards virtual rewards to participants involved in the initiative. These activities are designed to enhance awareness and understanding of digital literacy, and inspire innovative ideas for the training course.

Elaboration of a training course on Digital Citizenship
The training course, titled ‘Empowering Educators: Digital Citizenship Training for Adult Learners with Disabilities’’comprises a 25-hour program divided into 5 modules.
The course is tailored for adult learners’ educators including references, lectures and discussion prompts, supporting material, hands-on activities and game-based learning methodologies. The training course aims to equip educators with competencies on digital citizenship, pedagogical approaches in inclusive education and digital literacy skills among others.
Microcredential-based Digital Citizenship Curriculum tailored for AE
The Digital Citizenship Curriculum is designed to equip adult learners, including those with intellectual disabilities, with essential skills for active and responsible participation in the digital world.
By addressing key aspects such as digital literacy, responsible online behavior, privacy, security, and engagement in e-democracy, the curriculum fosters a comprehensive understanding of digital citizenship.
Learning is made engaging and interactive through a variety of activities, including visual games, role-play challenges, instructional videos, and interactive quizzes. To recognize and incentivize learning achievements, the curriculum adopts a microcredential approach, offering learners digital badges that serve as verifiable proof of their acquired competencies.
By combining structured training with an innovative credentialing system, this initiative ensures that adult learners gain the tools they need to navigate the digital world with confidence, fostering digital inclusion and encouraging active participation in digital democracy.

Creation of a game-based Toolkit and digital escape room
“Tell The game-based Toolkit includes 10 game-based activities developed specifically for the curriculum, tailored for adult educators and adult learners.
The game-based Toolkit aims to provide educators with practical resources in teaching digital citizenship to adult learners effectively. By integrating interactive elements and dynamic methodologies, the toolkit encourages active participation and enhances the learning experience.
La The digital escape room is created as an assessment method after completion of the Curriculum and Toolkit activities or as a stand-alone game.
The escape room promotes collaboration and problem-solving skills while reinforcing the concepts learned in the curriculum and toolkit. Participants are encouraged to actively engage with the content and apply their knowledge to solve puzzles and complete challenges. The digital escape room aims to empower PID by enhancing digital literacy and engagement into digital citizenship topics. These activities are designed to foster active engagement among all students in the classroom.
Workshops and Online Conference on E-democracy conducted with adult learners with disabilities
A series of workshops and an online conference on e-democracy are being organized and implemented in co-creation with adult learners with disabilities.
These initiatives empower participants by providing them with the knowledge and confidence to engage in political and civic activities, ensuring they have access to democratic processes and feel comfortable expressing their opinions without fear of judgment.
The local, adult-led workshops and the online conference serve as interactive spaces where participants deepen their understanding of e-democracy, reinforcing key learning points through discussion, collaboration, and hands-on activities.
By actively involving adult learners with disabilities in the design and execution of these events, the initiative not only addresses their specific needs but also promotes inclusivity, self-advocacy, digital empowerment, and fosters a more inclusive and participatory society.

What’s going on in the project?

Testing our training in Bologna
We’re excited to share that in October 2025 our team met in Bologna for testing our training course “Empowering Educators: Digital Citizenship Training for Adult Learners with Disabilities.” ✨
For five days, from the 13th to the 17th of October, participants explored digital citizenship, tested activities, exchanged ideas, and strengthened collaboration across Europe. The course aims to equip adult educators with tools, methods, and inclusive approaches to teach digital citizenship to learners with intellectual disabilities.
During the week, we shared expectations and experiences, explored the elements of digital citizenship, learned about inclusive teaching methods and accessibility tools, practiced non-formal education, gamification and collaborative approaches, and discussed digital skills, online safety, and digital ethics ⚖️.

DRAFT TRAINING COURSE IS READY: We need your feedback✨
We are pleased to announce that, thanks to the contributions ✨ collected during the Co-Creation Workshop and on our platform, the draft version of the training course “Empowering Educators: Digital Citizenship Training for Adult Learners with Disabilities” is now online.
The course aims to provide adult educators with practical tools, methods, and activities to teach digital citizenship in an inclusive, accessible, and engaging way. It covers key themes such as digital literacy, online safety, ethical behavior ⚖️, and participatory approaches for learners with intellectual disabilities.
